Assault on Radhika Oswal by fugitive employee’s son sparks global safety concerns, as the family petitions court to cancel bail and pursue stricter legal action.
The Oswal family has lodged a formal police complaint after Radhika Oswal, wife of industrialist Pankaj Oswal, was violently attacked on 23 July by Vishnu Menaria, the son of their former household chef, Mukesh Menaria.
According to the FIR, Vishnu unlawfully entered the Oswal residence, physically assaulted Radhika, and issued explicit threats of rape, acid attack, and murder. He was arrested shortly after the incident and produced before a magistrate. Despite the severity of the allegations, he was released on bail within 24 hours under strict conditions, including passport surrender. The Oswal family has challenged this bail order, citing grave risks to their safety, with a hearing scheduled for 25 September.
This incident comes against the backdrop of earlier fabricated allegations against the Oswals. In October 2024, Mukesh Menaria falsely accused the family of kidnapping with intent to murder, leading to the wrongful detention of their daughter, Vasundhara, in Uganda for three weeks. That case was dismissed in June 2025 after being declared baseless.
Mukesh, once the accuser, is now a fugitive wanted in multiple jurisdictions. In Uganda, he faces charges of providing false information and malicious prosecution, while in Tanzania he has been declared an absconder after breaching bail conditions in a theft case involving the Oswal family’s jewellery. In India, further legal proceedings are ongoing against his son Vishnu and wife over a cheque dishonour case, while a defamation suit has also been filed.
Commenting on the latest developments, Vasundhara Oswal said, “These false allegations and violent attacks have caused immense trauma for our family. Yet, we remain confident that truth and justice will prevail. We will pursue every legal path to protect ourselves and ensure accountability.”
Now based in Europe after relocating from Australia, the Oswal family reiterated their determination to safeguard their security and ensure the law takes its course, condemning the “aggressive and unlawful” actions of the Menaria family.
