On 15th October, DD Kisan will air a special program highlighting the achievements of women farmers, their struggles, and Rajasthani folk culture through Gulabo Sapera’s vibrant performance.

To commemorate Women Farmers’ Day on 15th October, DD Kisan is set to air a special program dedicated to the inspiring journeys of women farmers across India. This year marks the 10th edition of the day, first observed in 2016, celebrating the contributions and resilience of women in agriculture.
The program recording at the DD Kisan studio was graced by several dignitaries and leaders from the agricultural and broadcasting sectors. Prasar Bharati Chairman Navneet Kumar Sehgal, CEO Gaurav Dwivedi, Doordarshan Director General K. Satish Nambudripad, DD Kisan Deputy Director Lokman Singh, and Deputy Director & Program Head Rajkumar Nahar extended their heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the women farmers.
The broadcast will feature renowned women farmers including Padma Shri Rajkumari Devi, popularly known as Kisan Chachi; Padma Shri Kamatchi Chellammal, or Nariyal Amma; Vimala Sinwar, India’s first “Namo Drone Didi”; agricultural entrepreneur Annu Kanawat; Padma Shri Janak Palta, an energy conservation advocate; and Renu Sangwan, celebrated for her contributions to dairy farming.
Adding a vibrant cultural touch, the program will also showcase a mesmerizing Kalbelia dance performance by Padma Shri Gulabo Sapera, highlighting the rich heritage of Rajasthani folk art and its global acclaim.
The special program aims not only to honor the dedication and achievements of women in agriculture but also to inspire a new generation of women farmers across the country.
