Dr. K. A. Paul, founder of the U.S.–based Global Peace Initiative (GPI) and renowned international peace envoy, has called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to immediately cease all military operations targeting Iran. Speaking from the Praja Shanti Party headquarters in Hyderabad, Dr. Paul warned that continued aggression could trigger a global crisis.
Addressing reporters, he stated, “Prime Minister Netanyahu is making a grave error by bombing Iran’s nuclear sites. This is not merely an attack on Iran—it is a provocation toward Russia, China, and North Korea, and an open invitation to World War III.”
A former state guest of both Israel and Iran, Dr. Paul appealed to Netanyahu’s sense of humanity and expressed deep concern over the deteriorating situation in Gaza. “One million people in Gaza are now on the brink of starvation,” he said. “This is unacceptable. God, history, and humanity will never forgive such injustice.”
In the context of the recent Air India Flight AI-171 accident in Ahmedabad, Dr. Paul outlined several urgent demands to improve accountability and safety within India’s aviation sector:
- Resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi: Under the BJP-RSS policy of 75-year retirement, leadership should now transition to the younger generation.
- Appointment of Home Minister Amit Shah as Interim Prime Minister: Citing his extensive administrative experience, Dr. Paul argued that Mr. Shah is best placed to manage the transition.
- Resignation of Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu: Dr. Paul questioned Mr. Naidu’s qualifications and urged him to step down due to lack of aviation expertise.
- Adani Group’s Accountability and Compensation: Operating Ahmedabad Airport, the Adani Group must accept responsibility for the crash and provide ₹100 crore to each affected family as interim relief pending the final investigation.
- Runway Upgrade and Crackdown on Illegal Constructions: Dr. Paul called for the runway to be extended to international standards and for strict enforcement against unauthorized developments around the airport.
He also highlighted severe infrastructure shortcomings at Ahmedabad Airport—faulty ground handling and insufficient emergency services—as major contributors to the tragedy. “Having piloted private aircraft since 1991, I know aviation is an immensely complex and sensitive field,” Dr. Paul remarked. “We cannot ignore inexperience and negligence at the top levels. We need transparency, accountability, and immediate action.”
Concluding his address, Dr. Paul urged Indian citizens to remain vigilant and to pressure the central government, aviation authorities, and private airport operators to take full responsibility, ensuring that similar disasters are prevented in the future.
