Live performances and festive spirit highlight PCI’s Christmas Eve cultural programme
New Delhi: A spirit of celebration and togetherness marked Christmas Eve at the Press Club of India, where a musical evening titled ‘Aao Tumhein Chaand Pe Le Jaayein’ brought journalists and their families together for a cultural gathering.
The event featured live performances by Ankita Pathak, Shahid, Neeraj Thakur, Amit and Ravinder Kumar. Music was arranged by Kamal Rai and his band, with sound support by Jeetu Sound. IPS Bawa anchored and directed the programme.
Neeraj Thakur, who earlier served as General Secretary of the Press Club of India, said the evening reflected the collective spirit of the Club. “Christmas Eve at the Press Club is about togetherness. Performing here feels like being with family, people with whom one has shared years of professional life, conversations and camaraderie,” he said.
PCI President Sangeeta Barooah Pisharoty, on the occasion, said cultural events play an important role in sustaining the Club’s community ethos.
“The Press Club is not confined to professional engagement alone. Programmes like this strengthen camaraderie and keep the sense of community alive,” she said.
Members and their families turned out in large numbers for the programme, joining in familiar melodies and interactions that continued through the evening. The musical gathering added a festive close to Christmas Eve at the Press Club, reflecting the Club’s tradition of combining professional life with cultural and social engagement.
