Prof. Dwivedi emphasizes on Constitutional Values and India’s Resolute Response to Pahalgam Terror Attack
On the occasion of Samrasta Divas, dedicated to the legacy of Dr. B R Ambedkar , Prof. (Dr.) Ramakant Dwivedi, Head of the MERI Centre for International Studies (CIS), delivered a powerful and thought-provoking lecture at the Delhi High Court.
The event was attended by Justice Jasmeet Singh, Judge of the Delhi High Court, along with several dignitaries and legal professionals.
Prof. Dwivedi underscored the core principles of the Indian Constitution, emphasizing the importance of protecting its framework. He warned that any attempt to undermine India’s constitutional integrity would be met with a strong and decisive response.
Referring to the terror attack on April 22, 2025, in Pahalgam, J & K—carried out by Pakistan-backed terrorists targeting innocent civilians, Prof. Dwivedi detailed India’s precise counter-strike on May 7, 2025. The operation successfully neutralized nine major terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK).
The key camps targeted included:
- Lashkar-e-Taiba’s Sawai Nala, Gulpur, Abbas, and Barnala camps
- Jaish-e-Mohammed’s Syedna Bilal camp
- Strategic hubs such as LeT’s Markaz Taiba in Muridke and JeM’s Markaz Subhanallah headquarters in Bahawalpur
- Additional camps at Sarjal and Mehmoona Joya in Sialkot
Justice Jasmeet Singh, in his remarks, praised the Indian Constitution as a remarkable document of wisdom and foresight. “The more we read and interpret it, the more enlightened we become,” he said, stressing that defending the Constitution is a shared responsibility of every citizen.
Prof. Dwivedi paid heartfelt tribute to Baba Saheb Ambedkar and urged all citizens to recommit themselves to upholding the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
Advocate Akhil Jaitley and Professor Lalit Aggarwal, Vice-President of the MERI Group of Institutions, were also present and engaged with the dignitaries during the networking break.
