AI Is Managing My Calendar, My Meals, and Even My Sleep — But Am I Happier?

As AI tools flood our daily routines, young Indians are asking: is tech-enhanced living actually making life better?

Aakash Mehta is a 28-year-old product manager who resides in Bangalore, and he begins each morning with a smart notification. It is not a colleague reaching out to him, but from his AI wellness app. “It’s time for 10 minutes of deep breathing,” it says. By the time he has breakfast — the meal is custom on the basis of a calorie-counting app — AI has auto-synced his calendar, optimized his meetings, and reordered his groceries.

“It’s efficient, no doubt,” Aakash says. “But sometimes I wonder — am I living, or just executing?”

Tech-Enhanced Wellness: The New Normal

In metropolitan areas throughout India, young workers are seeking to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, wellness, and even their emotional state. From sleep trackers and guided meditation bots to smart fridges and fitness algorithms, artificial intelligence is offering a fully streamlined life.

At face value, it does. People claim to skip fewer meals, better manage their time, and improve their sleep habits; however, a growing number are challenging the emotional expense.

The Wellness Paradox

“AI can tell you when to eat, when to take a break, even when to journal,” Dr. Neha Goyal, a psychologist in Delhi, says. “But it can’t teach you how to find pleasure in doing it. Wellness isn’t just about habits — it’s about intention.

“For some, the continual optimization feels less like self-care and more like digital micromanagement. Sure, there’s a dopamine high when you tick off tasks, but it doesn’t last long.

So, Are We Happier?

This answer may be subjective. Some people find that AI is the coach of their dreams. Others use AI as a reminder that inner peace cannot be coded. According to Aakash, “My life is certainly more efficient — but sometimes I miss the chaos.”
