Dr. K.A. Paul Accuses Russia of Aiding Pakistan, Calls for U.S. Sanctions to Safeguard South Asian Stability

Renowned global peace activist Dr. K.A. Paul addressed a high-profile press conference at A.P. Bhavan in Delhi, highlighting urgent international and national concerns following his recent diplomatic engagements in Washington D.C. and New York. Dr. Paul met with senior U.S. Senators from both the Republican and Democratic parties, along with several global leaders.

During his address, Dr. Paul strongly advocated for comprehensive U.S. sanctions on Russia, citing its ongoing military and strategic support to Pakistan as a serious threat to stability in South Asia. “Russia is betraying India by backing Pakistan, even as we face repeated terrorist attacks,” he stated. According to Dr. Paul, 100% of Democratic lawmakers and 80% of Republicans in the U.S. are in favor of introducing stricter sanctions against Russia by the end of June.

Plans Announced for Global Peace Summit in New York

Dr. Paul also revealed plans to host what he described as the “world’s largest Global Peace Summit” in New York later this year. The summit is expected to focus on key global conflicts, including the ongoing war in Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Final dates for the summit will be announced later this week.

Political Corruption Allegations Rock Telangana

Turning to domestic issues, Dr. Paul referenced a viral video featuring Telangana Congress MLA Mandula Samuel, which he claimed exposes systemic corruption and a widespread “bribe culture” among state legislators. He further alleged that Telangana Chief Minister Ravindra Reddy, despite being a Congress leader, holds ideological affiliations with the BJP. Dr. Paul warned of a looming political shake-up, with reports suggesting Reddy may split from Congress, taking 25 to 30 MLAs with him to form a new government—similar to political realignments seen in Maharashtra.

Judiciary Urged to Uphold Constitutional Integrity

Dr. Paul expressed frustration over the Election Commission’s inaction and delays in disqualifying defecting MLAs. He made an emotional appeal to the Indian judiciary to intervene decisively. “Our democracy and Constitution can only be protected if the judiciary shows courage and commitment to constitutional principles,” he said, urging judges across the country to act in defense of democratic values.

The press conference concluded with a strong message urging both national and international stakeholders to work collectively to strengthen democratic institutions, ensure political accountability, and promote peace and justice across the globe.
