In New Delhi, Mayor Dr. Somya Gurjar discussed Jaipur’s beautification, municipal achievements, and the positive economic impact of GST-2 reforms on citizens and businesses in Rajasthan.

Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation Mayor Dr. Somya Gurjar met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday in the national capital to deliberate on key economic reforms and ongoing urban development projects in Jaipur.

During the interaction, Dr. Gurjar apprised the Finance Minister of the major progress achieved in the city under various development and beautification initiatives led by the Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation. She emphasized how local-level improvements have contributed to a more organized and aesthetically enhanced urban environment.

Dr. Gurjar also highlighted the significant benefits emerging from the GST-2 reforms in Rajasthan. She noted that the reforms have created a healthier economic climate, offering direct relief to traders and ordinary citizens alike, while simplifying business operations across the state.

In addition, she shared her experiences from her term as Mayor, outlining the challenges and developments witnessed within the municipal framework. Discussions also included the financial health of Rajasthan’s local bodies and the need for strengthening their fiscal stability.

Concluding the meeting, Dr. Gurjar presented Finance Minister Sitharaman with a copy of “Mera Jaipur Greater,” a coffee-table book documenting the major works and achievements of the Jaipur Greater Municipal Corporation.
