EPS-95 Leaders Issue Warning: If Demands Are Not Met, Nationwide Hunger Strikes and Jail Bharo Movement Will Follow

The nationwide protest by EPS-95 pensioners demanding a minimum pension of ₹7,500 per month, dearness allowance, and free medical facilities received significant political support today. On the second day of the sit-in at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, thousands of pensioners from across the country were joined by 26 Members of Parliament from various political parties, who expressed their solidarity and extended full support.
Several prominent MPs were present at the protest, including BJP Rajya Sabha MP and National Vice President of the BJP Mahila Morcha Dr. Medha Kulkarni; Shrirang Appa Barne from Pimpri-Chinchwad; Amra Ram from Sikar; Tanuj Punia from Barabanki; Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj from Kolhapur; Kalyan Kale from Jalna; Om Raje Nimbalkar from Dharashiv; Naresh Mhaskey from Thane; Pratibha Tai Dhanorkar from Chandrapur; Shobha Tai Bachhav from Dhule; Bandu Bhau Jadhav from Hingoli; Sandipan Bhumre from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar; Shivaji Rao Kalge from Latur; Raja Bhau Vazhe from Nashik; Bhagre Guruji from Dindori; Namdevrao Kirsan from Gadchiroli; Prashant Padole from Bhandara; Ravindra Chavan and Shamrao Berge from Nanded; and Lok Sabha MP Geniben Thakor from Banaskantha, Gujarat.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP and BJP Mahila Morcha National Vice President Dr. Medha Kulkarni joined the protest and assured the demonstrators of her full support. Addressing the gathering, she said, “The government stands with you, not against you. I have spoken to the concerned Minister on this matter, and I assure you that the issue will be resolved soon.”
After listening in detail to the background of the pension movement and the seriousness of the pensioners’ problems, all the attending MPs declared that they would stage a protest inside the Parliament complex tomorrow, holding placards and raising the demands of EPS-95 pensioners. They stated that the time has come to put pressure on the government so that it is compelled to take prompt decisions regarding pension increases.
Addressing the gathering at Jantar Mantar, National President Commander Ashok Raut, National General Secretary Virendra Singh Rajawat, and National Chief Coordinator Ramakant Nargund warned that if the government does not make an immediate decision in the interest of 7.8 million pensioners, then aggressive forms of protest such as district-level demonstrations, hunger strikes, road blockades, and a nationwide Jail Bharo movement will be launched.
Office bearers from pensioners’ organizations across several states—including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Manipur, and Assam—participated in the protest and expressed deep anger over the continued delay in pension revision.
