An interactive meeting between journalists and Bharatiya Janata Party National Executive President Nitin Naveen was held in New Delhi on Tuesday, focusing on strengthening communication between the media and political leadership and addressing contemporary national concerns.
The discussion provided a platform for journalists to share perspectives on the vital role of independent, responsible, and fact-based journalism in a democratic society. Participants also exchanged views on information dissemination, issues of public relevance, and the broader social responsibilities of the media in shaping informed public opinion.
The interaction underscored the importance of open dialogue between the press and public representatives to ensure transparency, accountability, and constructive engagement on matters affecting citizens.
At the conclusion of the meeting, senior journalist Rakesh Singh felicitated Nitin Naveen by presenting him with the traditional Mithila Paag. The ceremonial headgear, deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of the Mithila region, symbolised respect, honour, and the region’s long-standing traditions of hospitality.
The event was also attended by Sanjay Mayukh, Member of the Bihar Legislative Council and National Media Co-Incharge of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who highlighted the significance of ongoing engagement between political leadership and the media.
Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Singh said that meaningful dialogue between journalists and elected representatives plays a crucial role in strengthening democratic institutions. He added that honouring guests with the Mithila Paag reflects the cultural values and traditions of the region.
Organisers said the meeting aimed to further enhance cooperation and constructive discussion between journalists and political leaders, with a focus on issues of public interest and democratic accountability.
