Bharatatma Veda Awards 2025 Announced in Pune; Top Vedic Scholars and Institutions Felicitated

Event Held in Memory of Ashokji Singhal; Swami Govindadev Giriji Maharaj Calls Vedas “India’s Soul”

The Bharatatma Veda Awards 2025, one of India’s leading recognitions for excellence in Vedic studies, were presented in Pune at the Dadasaheb Darode Auditorium. The awards, instituted in honour of Bharatatma Shri Ashokji Singhal, celebrate exceptional contributions to Vedic scholarship and teaching.

Chief guest Swami Govindadev Giriji Maharaj delivered a keynote address, stating that the Vedas are the foundation of Indian culture and the source of knowledge for the world. He emphasised that Ashokji Singhal’s devotion to Vedic heritage continues to inspire future generations.

Presenting details about the initiative, Singhal Foundation trustee Salil Singhalji noted that the awards follow a transparent, fully online selection process. The honours span three major categories—Outstanding Veda Student (₹3 lakh), Ideal Veda Teacher (₹5 lakh) and Best Veda Institution (₹7 lakh).

Bharatatma Veda Awards 2025: List of Winners

  • Outstanding Veda Student: Nori Kedareswar Sharma (Hyderabad), Krishna Yajurveda scholar proficient in Vedangas, Sanskrit classics and advanced grammar.
  • Ideal Veda Teacher: Ananta Krishna Bhatt (Chennai), an accomplished Krishna Yajurveda and Mimamsa scholar with several publications.
  • Best Veda Institution: Shri Dattatreya Veda Vidyalaya (Rajamahendravaram), honoured for its comprehensive training methods including Pada, Krama, Jata and Ghana recitations.

The final shortlist included scholars from Pune, Sambhajinagar, Villupuram and Kapileshwarapuram, representing diverse Vedic lineages and institutions across India.

The 2025 ceremony once again underlined the role of the Bharatatma Veda Awards in preserving India’s Vedic knowledge traditions, encouraging academic excellence, and nurturing the next generation of Vedic practitioners.
