Alleges Cover-up, Raises Serious Concerns Over Human Rights Violations and Calls for National, International Attention
Renowned peace ambassador and humanitarian Dr. K.A. Paul has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the mysterious and tragic death of Pastor Praveen Pagadala. Presenting his case before the Chief Justice, Dr. Paul claimed the incident was not an accident but a premeditated murder, and criticized the current investigation for its inconsistencies and lack of transparency.
22 Key Points Presented, Alleging Conspiracy
Dr. Paul submitted 22 critical points to the court that, according to him, clearly indicate a well-planned conspiracy behind the pastor’s death. He highlighted serious lapses in the investigation: the postmortem report has yet to be made public, there was a delay in filing the First Information Report (FIR), and the victim’s family and close friends have reportedly been intimidated. He argued that these actions constitute a serious breach of constitutional rights and appear to be deliberate attempts to suppress the truth.
High Court Seeks Response from State Authorities
The High Court has taken note of the concerns raised and has directed the Andhra Pradesh government, the Director General of Police (DGP), and other relevant parties to submit their responses.
Silence of Officials and Circulation of Unverified Videos Questioned
Dr. Paul criticized the silence of several political and police officials, particularly those in positions of authority. He condemned the unauthorized circulation of videos related to the case before the investigation was complete, stating that such acts mislead the public and undermine the dignity of the justice system.
Global Concern over Religious Minority Safety
Having recently returned from an international peace conference in Europe, Dr. Paul shared that U.S. Senators, Members of Parliament, and leaders from the European Parliament have expressed concern over the case. “This issue has extended beyond India. It raises alarming questions about the safety and rights of religious minorities on a global scale,” he said.
Appeal for CBI Probe and Call to Action
Dr. Paul has urged the High Court to hand over the investigation to the CBI, citing the presence of photographic, forensic, and documentary evidence supporting the theory of murder.
“This is not just about one man’s death—it’s a fight for truth, justice, and the constitutional rights of every Indian citizen,” Dr. Paul emphasized, particularly for those vulnerable to religious discrimination and violence.
He also appealed to national leaders, civil society organizations, media houses, and international human rights bodies to closely monitor the case and ensure accountability.
