International FDP on “Enhancing Research with AI Tools and Techniques” Concludes Successfully

The Management Education & Research Institute (MERI), Delhi, successfully organized an International Faculty Development Program (FDP) from February 22 to 28, 2025, under its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The event focused on the theme “Enhancing Research with AI Tools and Techniques” and aimed to equip educators with the knowledge and skills to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into research and teaching methodologies.

Inauguration and Expert Insights

The FDP was inaugurated by Prof. Bharat Bhargava (Purdue University, USA), whose insights enriched the program. Distinguished guests included Mr. I.P. Aggarwal (Chairman, MERI Group), Prof. Lalit Aggarwal (Vice President), Dr. Rakesh Khurana (Advisor), and Dr. Deeptishikha Kalra (Dean). During the inaugural session, Prof. Lalit Aggarwal emphasized the need for educators to stay updated with technological advancements in education, while Prof. Bhargava highlighted AI’s role in personalized learning and streamlining administrative tasks, sparking engaging discussions among participants.

Expert Sessions and Hands-on Training

Throughout the FDP, several experts shared their insights on AI-driven teaching and research methodologies:

  • Dr. Amogh Siranurkar (Purdue University) delivered a session on AI-powered teaching techniques.
  • Dr. Seema Malik (BPS Women’s University) conducted a session on qualitative analysis using ORANGE software.
  • Mr. Amit Batra led a hands-on workshop on data visualization with Power BI.
  • The program concluded with an insightful session by Dr. Gangandeep Kaur, who discussed contemporary challenges in research and innovative AI-driven solutions.

A Transformative Learning Experience

The FDP served as a collaborative and knowledge-enriching platform for educators, equipping them with AI-based research tools. MERI remains committed to organizing such initiatives in the future, ensuring that educators stay technologically adept and enhance the learning experience for students.
