India's Soul in Scents: Gujarat's First 'Ramalaya Experience Centre' Opens at Vadodara Airport

A Fragrant Tribute to Indian Culture, Art, and Spirituality Begins at the Terminal

Gujarat witnessed the inauguration of its first Ramalaya Experience Centre at the Vadodara Airport’s Security Hold Area (SHA) today. Conceptualized by luxury incense brand JPSR Prabhu Shri Ram, this unique initiative invites travelers to connect with India’s spiritual essence through the art of scent.

A Spiritual Gateway at the Airport

The centre was inaugurated by Gujarat Assembly’s BJP Chief Whip and MLA, Balakrishna Shukla, who described Ramalaya as “a refined and experiential representation of India’s soul.” He emphasized its role in expressing India’s divine spirit and timeless values, and praised the airport’s association with this cultural and sensory journey.

Located within the airport, the centre aims to revive India’s spiritual and artistic legacy using immersive fragrance experiences. Travelers can now embark on a cultural exploration right at the terminal—encountering stories from Indian epics, particularly the Ramayana, through luxurious incense collections and visually rich installations.

Ramayana-Inspired Collections and Artistic Heritage

Central to the experience is the Shripad Ramayana Collection, inspired by the 1,000-year-old Madhubani art tradition of Mithila, the birthplace of Goddess Sita. These handcrafted incense collections blend divine fragrances, sacred narratives, and intricate artwork to bring the teachings of the Ramayana to life in a truly unique format.

Other Distinctive Collections Include:

  • Kannauj Collection: Celebrates the legacy of India’s perfume capital, Kannauj, with traditional hand-rolled incense sticks infused with rich, indigenous aromas.
  • Ellora Perfume Line (Upcoming): A modern fragrance series inspired by the grandeur of Indian temple art and architecture.

Taking Fragrance Beyond Aroma – A Cultural Mission

Prashant Kumar, CMD of Mod Retail Sales and Marketing Pvt. Ltd. and founder of the Ramalaya Foundation, shared the deeper vision behind the initiative:
“Ramalaya is our humble effort to showcase India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage through the art of fragrance. In today’s world, airports are the new temples—places where thoughts travel. We aim to connect the soul through Indian storytelling and sacred scents.”

He added that the goal is to set up Ramalaya Experience Centres in major airports across India and globally, offering international audiences an opportunity to engage with India’s cultural spirit in an immersive, sensory way.

Bridging Tradition and Modernity

More than just a retail concept, Ramalaya aspires to inspire youth and society by spreading India’s deep-rooted values, traditions, and artistic excellence. It also aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a ‘Vishwaguru’ (Global Teacher) by projecting Indian spirituality and culture onto the world stage.

The Ramalaya Experience Centre is not just a place to purchase incense—it’s a space to breathe in India’s legacy and carry a piece of its soul along on every journey.
