Nine-Day ‘Rajasthan Utsav 2025’ Begins at Bikaner House, New Delhi

The vibrant and culturally rich ‘Rajasthan Utsav 2025’ has commenced at Bikaner House, New Delhi, celebrating Rajasthan’s traditional heritage. The nine-day festival, which runs from March 25 to April 2, will be officially inaugurated by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Wednesday.

Craft Fair & Food Festival to Be the Main Attractions

According to Anju Omprakash, Additional Resident Commissioner of Rajasthan in Delhi, the festival is being held to mark Rajasthan Foundation Day. As part of the celebrations, a Rajeevika Craft Fair and a Food Festival will be organized, showcasing Rajasthan’s rich artistry and culinary delights.

Exciting Competitions & Traditional Games

Based on the enthusiastic response from visitors last year, this edition will feature a variety of engaging competitions, including painting, mehendi (henna) art, and a golgappa (pani puri) eating challenge. Additionally, traditional Rajasthani games will be conducted, with winners receiving consolation prizes as a token of appreciation.

Cultural Evening with Folk Performances

Chhatarpal Yadav, Assistant Director at the Rajasthan Tourist Reception Center, announced that a special cultural evening will be hosted by the Rajasthan Tourism Department on Wednesday. This event will feature mesmerizing performances by folk artists from different regions of Rajasthan, providing an immersive experience of the state’s rich artistic heritage.

The evening will begin with Ganesh Vandana, followed by the captivating Mayur (Peacock) Dance and the famous Phoolon Ki Holi (Flower Holi), performed by Naveen Sharma from Bharatpur. Following this, Avdhesh Kumar from Bharatpur will present the Charkula Dance, while Ghaffaruddin Mewati from Deeg will showcase the Bhapang Vadan (a unique musical performance). Additionally, Arjun Singh Julia from Suratgarh will perform the Mashan Vadan, adding to the musical charm of the evening.

Further enriching the event, Anisuddin and his troupe from Delhi will present the Chari Dance, and the renowned Ghoomar Dance, a symbol of Rajasthani culture, will be performed by Kalpana Chauhan.

Handicrafts Exhibition Featuring Rajasthani Artistry

The festival will also host an exhibition of handcrafted products curated by the Rajasthan Rural Livelihood Development Council (Rajeevika). These exhibits will highlight Rajasthan’s vibrant folk art and craftsmanship, with products available for purchase.

With a perfect blend of cultural performances, culinary experiences, and traditional craftsmanship, Rajasthan Utsav 2025 promises to offer a truly immersive Rajasthani experience in the heart of the capital.
