Rajasthan Tourism Meet Held at Bikaner House to Boost State’s Travel Industry

The Rajasthan Tourism Department organized a Tourism Meet at Bikaner House as part of the ongoing Rajasthan Utsav, a nine-day festival celebrating the state’s cultural and tourism heritage. The event, which runs until April 2, gathered tourism industry experts, government officials, travel agents, and stakeholders to discuss innovative ways to enhance Rajasthan’s tourism appeal.

Dr. Deepali Sharma, Deputy Director of Rajasthan Tourism, revealed that the department collaborated with Music Veranda to host a special talk show, “Mharo Rajasthan” (Beautiful and Divine, My Rajasthan), featuring six distinguished panelists. She proudly announced that Rajasthan currently ranks seventh among Indian states in tourism, with a remarkable 28% rise in both domestic and international tourist visits over the past year.

As part of the festival, the Bikaner House premises have been adorned with vibrant cutouts of Rajasthan’s iconic destinations, interactive selfie points, large digital screens, and colorful banners to engage visitors and promote tourism in an immersive way.

Speaking at the event, Rinku Meena, Deputy Residential Commissioner of the Rajasthan Government, highlighted the state’s progressive tourism policy, which focuses on key segments such as heritage and cultural tourism, adventure tourism, wildlife tourism, religious tourism, and festival tourism. She emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure, including better road, rail, and air connectivity, promoting heritage hotels and homestays, and leveraging digital marketing and sustainable tourism practices.

With Rajasthan witnessing a surge in tourist interest, the government aims to further solidify the state’s position as a top travel destination by integrating eco-tourism, film tourism, and innovative promotional strategies into its long-term vision.
