Industry-academia collaboration with ASDC aligns with NEP and boosts employability in the auto sector

MERI College of Engineering and Technology, located near Sampla, successfully organized an Eicher Hands-On Training Session on July 14, 2025, in collaboration with the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC). This marked the first time such a practical, industry-driven training program was held in Haryana, an important milestone in fostering stronger ties between industry and academia while promoting skill-based education in the field of automotive engineering.
The program was inaugurated in the esteemed presence of Prof. Lalit Agrawal, Vice President, MERI Group of Institutions; Prof. Umesh Gupta, Director, MERI SET; Prof. Tapas Dey, Head of HR, MERI; and Mr. Kush Agrawal.
The chief guest for the occasion was Mr. Arindam Lahiri, CEO of ASDC, who emphasized the importance of practical training and skill development in the current industrial landscape. Several distinguished guests were also present, including Ms. Garima Jhamb, Assistant Vice President, NEP Implementation; Ms. Kirti, Project Head, Implementation; Ms. Tanya, Head, Communications and Outreach; and Mr. Aniruddha Sharma, Technical Trainer, Aftermarket (Eicher), who conducted the core technical session for the students.
The session was coordinated by Mr. Sandeep Chhillar, Mr. Gaurav Kumar, and Mr. Manoj Bansal, and was successfully compered by Ms. Mrinal and Ms. Ankita.
