Mrs. Rita Singh, daughter of Mr. J.B. Singh, a former Intelligence Bureau officer and recipient of the President’s Police Medal, has been recognized for her distinguished service and long-time contribution to the Indian community in Chicago, USA.

A Pillar of the Indian Diaspora in the U.S.


Mrs. Rita Singh has resided in Chicago for 28 years and has demonstrated incredible influence in the Indian-American community. She is known for her strong leadership skills and for her devotion to community building. Because of this, she has gained much admiration from the local community.

Founder of Community-Driven Organizations


Mrs. Singh is the visionary founder of several organizations, including the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA), Chicago and Women’s Empowerment (WE), Chicago. These platforms have had amazing impact to advocate for Indian culture and sensitszing the community as well as advocating women’s empowerment.

Mrs. Singh, with her husband, Mr. Sanjeev Singh, represents Indian culture and heritage today in the United States.
