Cricket Broadcaster Defends Her Family’s Privacy After Online Abuse
April 28, 2025
While social media usually provides fans a platform to applaud the personalities they admire, it also can be a platform for undeserved disrespect and negativity. Cricket broadcaster, Sanjana Ganesan, who is married to Indian fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, experienced this toxicity herself. She came out with a powerful response online towards trolls who commented about their very young son, Angad Bumrah, when he was shown on screen during a match in the Mumbai Indians vs. Lucknow Super Giants IPL 2024 match.

Sanjana’s Strong Reaction to Trolling
Sanjana boldly made a statement in an Instagram story shared by Bumrah too. She denounced the truckload of trolling they received about their son who is only one-and-a-half-years old, stating, “Children shall NOT be subject to this form of bullying online.” “Our son is NOT your source of entertainment,” she said with determination, defending Angad’s right to freedom and dignity.
She pointed out how individuals pass superficial judgments about Angad’s attitude while playing and regretted the damage it does when saying mean things about a young person. She pleaded for people to be more kind and considerate, particularly with the dialogue about young people.
Jasprit Bumrah’s Support
To support his wife, Jasprit Bumrah shared her post about their joint position protecting their son. They maintained that they have protected Angad from the public eye, and were disappointed that even the little bit of publicity brought such a negative response.
A Wider Message on Online Behavior
The incident opens up new dialogues regarding what permissible behavior may look like online, as well as what extent the families of celebrities can be subject to the spotlight. Sanjana’s brave reply serves as a reminder that public figures and their families also have the right to privacy and that children should not be subject of online criticism without any basis.
