Social Media Divided Over Anchor’s On-Air Tears Following Indian Airstrikes

A video of Pakistani news anchor crying during a live broadcast has gone viral. This comes in the wake of Indian Operation Sindoor, that struck alleged terrorist bases which reportedly exist in Pakistan/Pakistan-administered Kashmir, suggesting a crowd of confusion and apprehension on the internet.
Anchor’s Emotional Outburst Captures Attention
In the video shared by X (formerly Twitter) user @Incognito_qfs, an anchor appears distraught while mourning the dead from the Indian air strikes. That video has received over half a million views. The emotional appeal from the anchor has clearly touched many of the viewers; likewise, the video remains unverified. TV9 Hindi has been unable to authenticate the video.

Public Reaction: Sympathy and Skepticism
Social media has seen a variety of reactions to the anchor’s impassioned outburst. Some acknowledged the human cost of the conflict and expressed sympathy for the situation. Others criticized the emotional display as performative, commenting that they thought the tears were fake or over-the-top. One user called out, “This lady should act in Pakistani serials,” and another stated, “Ssshhhh… enough drama, sister.”
Operation Sindoor: Background
Operation Sindoor was initiated by India following a terrorist attack on April 22, 2025, in Pahalgam, Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of 26 Indian tourists. The operation included targeted action at nine sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir that India believed were terrorist infrastructure, such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, among other groups. Pakistan condemned the strikes as an act of war, reported civilian casualties from the strikes, and vowed to retaliate.
