Delhi to Witness the 72nd Maharishi Valmiki Shobha Yatra on October 7, Celebrating the Saint-Poet’s Legacy of Righteousness and Unity

New Delhi: The 72nd Maharishi Valmiki Shobha Yatra, organized by the Maharishi Valmiki Janmotsav Committee (Regd.), Delhi Pradesh, will take place on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Madhodas Park, Red Fort, before proceeding to the historic Bhagwan Valmiki Temple, Mandir Marg, Punchkuian Road, New Delhi. The grand procession celebrates the Prakatotsav (appearance day) of Bhagwan Maharishi Valmiki Ji, the revered saint-poet and author of the sacred epic Ramayana, whose timeless message of truth, compassion, and righteousness continues to guide humanity.

The grand event will open with a vibrant cultural program and felicitation ceremony, followed by devotional tableaux, band performances, and traditional music, culminating in the inauguration of the Shobha Yatra. Thousands of devotees and community members are expected to join the procession, which has long stood as a symbol of unity and devotion in Delhi’s cultural calendar.

The celebration will be graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, as Chief Guest; Hon’ble Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, Former Chief Justice of India, as Guest of Honour; and Chaudhery Manish Parcha, President of the Maharishi Valmiki Janmotsav Committee (Regd.) Delhi Pradesh, presiding over the event.

In his message ahead of the celebration, Justice K.G. Balakrishnan said, “Bhagwan Valmiki’s message of righteousness and compassion continues to guide humanity. This celebration is a living reminder of India’s moral and spiritual foundations that bind our society together.”

The Yatra will be guided by senior community leaders Ch. Pt. Durgadas and Kishan Lal Sinandi as Patrons. The organizing committee includes Sachin Gaur (Chairman), Madan Rukhar (Convenor), Anil Sinandi (General Secretary), Gaurav Pehalwan (Treasurer), Rohit Dilod (Manager), Vicky Premi (Spokesperson), Karan Parcha (Coordinator), Ajay Parcha (Acting President) and Anshul Rukhar (Vice President)

Sharing his thoughts, Chaudhery Manish Parcha said, “This Shobha Yatra reflects our collective devotion and cultural pride. For more than seven decades, it has carried forward the values of truth, compassion, and equality that Bhagwan Valmiki Ji embodied.”
