Varanasi is set to host a landmark clean-energy summit on 16 November, bringing together top government officials, renewable-energy specialists, banking partners, and community representatives at Hotel Castillo. The event aims to highlight the city’s growing leadership in solar adoption and its contribution to India’s broader renewable-energy mission.
Organised by Sun King, the programme will focus on the rapid expansion of solar solutions in Varanasi and the role of various stakeholders—particularly customers—who have been instrumental in accelerating the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Their efforts in embracing solar energy and inspiring wider community participation will be specially acknowledged during the ceremony.
Delegates from the Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), along with bank officials, field teams, customers, and energy officers, will come together to review the progress made so far in the city’s solar initiatives. Discussions will cover on-ground achievements, policy support, technological innovations, and the collaborative ecosystem responsible for driving adoption across households and localities.
The event will also shed light on how coordinated actions at both regional and national levels are helping build a more secure, sustainable, and future-ready energy framework for India.
