HRDS INDIA is set to host the inaugural edition of the Veer Savarkar International Impact Award 2025 on 10 December at the NDMC Convention Hall, New Delhi. The ceremony will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, while Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Shri Manoj Sinha will grace the occasion as the Chief Dignitary.

Among the six outstanding personalities chosen for recognition, Hon’ble Member of Parliament Dr. Shashi Tharoor stands out as a key awardee. Instituted to honour leaders whose work creates measurable national and global impact, the award acknowledges excellence across public service, thought leadership, societal development, and long-term contribution to nation-building.

Dr. Tharoor’s distinguished career—spanning nearly three decades at the United Nations, impactful parliamentary leadership, and authorship of over twenty acclaimed books—has significantly shaped conversations on diplomacy, governance, India’s civilisational identity, and global engagement. His selection for the maiden edition underscores the award’s emphasis on multifaceted influence and transformative public contribution.

Reflecting on the decision, Shri Aji Krishnan, Founder–Secretary of HRDS INDIA, remarked:
“Dr. Shashi Tharoor embodies a rare blend of global experience, intellectual depth, and deep commitment to public welfare. His work has enriched India’s national narrative and elevated its voice internationally. He exemplifies the values we seek to honour through this award.”

The Veer Savarkar International Impact Award has been established in tribute to Shri Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, renowned revolutionary, thinker, and social reformer whose philosophy of courage, reform, and nation-first consciousness continues to inspire India’s development journey. The award aims to honour individuals whose work reflects these ideals and contributes meaningfully to societal progress.

The inaugural ceremony will bring together senior policymakers, diplomats, academics, social innovators, and leaders from diverse fields to celebrate contributions that reinforce India’s democratic, developmental, and cultural landscape.

As a nationally recognised NGO working for holistic Tribal and Rural Development, HRDS INDIA continues to expand its impact across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Tripura, Assam, and Jharkhand. Its initiatives in education, healthcare, skill development, livelihood creation, and women’s empowerment have transformed the lives of thousands of tribal families, reaffirming its mission to build an inclusive and equitable society.

The first edition of the award marks a significant milestone for HRDS INDIA—spotlighting individuals whose achievements embody the spirit of patriotism, reform, resilience, and national service championed by Veer Savarkar.
