Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan took to X (formerly Twitter) to issue a firm and patriotic response to Shahid Afridi, a former cricketer from Pakistan and entertainer of many, after Afridi announced that he blamed India for the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.
What Afridi said could not be more controversial, and while Afridi received criticism everywhere else, it was Dhawan’s dignified and bolstered response that became pithy content across the internet in a hurry.

In response to Afridi, Dhawan tweeted in Hindi:
“Kargil mein bhi hum jeete the, kitna aur gir sakte ho? Aksar bey sabab comments karne se behtar hai ki apne desh ki tarakki par dhyaan do, @SAfridiOfficial. Humein apni Indian Army par bahut garv hai. Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Jai Hind!”
Translated, Dhawan reminded Afridi of Pakistan’s defeat in the Kargil War and urged him to avoid unnecessary remarks, saying it would be better if he focused on his own country’s development.
