E-Cell, MERI College achieved a landmark success at the National Entrepreneurship Challenge (NEC) 2025, finishing among the top five institutions nationwide during the 21st E-Summit finals at IIT Bombay. This remarkable performance marked a major leap from their initial 57th position, highlighting the team’s determination and strategic ingenuity amidst competition from nearly 4,000 colleges across India.

The journey to the Top 5 began with an early setback on 31 January 2025, which prompted a complete organizational overhaul. Focusing on disciplined execution, structured planning, and long-term vision, the team engaged in months of rigorous preparation, culminating in their official 5th-place ranking on 12 December 2025.

Leadership played a pivotal role in this transformation. Zorawar Singh (NEC Leader), Anant Noor Singh (President), and Vishal Dudeja (Vice NEC Leader) guided the team through challenging competition phases, while Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Chhabra provided academic and strategic support as NEC External Mentor and Illuminate Faculty Member.

Throughout NEC 2025, E-Cell MERI participated in over 40 competitions and successfully completed 18 NEC tasks, including key events like Illuminate, Eureka Pitching, and Founders’ Expo. The college also became the only North Indian institution to host the Eureka North Zonals in collaboration with E-Cell, IIT Bombay, underscoring its leadership in the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem.

At the Mumbai finals, the team excelled across five demanding rounds—presentations, group discussions, case analyses, and the IPL auction challenge—demonstrating not only skill and creativity but also seamless teamwork between on-ground and remote contributors.

The leap from 57th place to Top 5 is a testament to strategic planning, mentorship, and collaborative effort. Building on this momentum, E-Cell MERI College has already commenced preparations for NEC 2026, aiming for the highest national honors.
